At the Disability and the Church Conference, during a breakout session with Ryan Wolfe, we got to witness two of the most amazing and fun volunteers. Christine Boyle played the role of a parent/advocate wanting to establish a disability ministry and Charlotte played the role of a pastor or church leader pushing back on the idea.

Sure wish we had recorded this conversation because it was amazing. Christine said it best when she stated, “Charlotte was one tough cookie!”

While Charlotte was doing a great job playing the role for the purpose of this training session, you might very well find yourself in a similar position to Christine, an advocate wanting a pastor or senior leader to listen to you as to why the church needs to create a disability ministry.

One of the resources discussed was “Why Start a Disability Ministry” package which we created to put all of the tools in your hands that you would need to communicate to church leadership why the church is not complete without a disability ministry. This tool is great for helping you “speak the language” of church leadership and getting them on board.
