Why Your Church Should Preach the “Made for More” Series

People with disabilities are often the most overlooked group in the church, yet Scripture is clear—they are made in God’s image, created for a purpose, essential to the body of Christ, and called to His mission. The “Made for More: God’s Plan for People with Disabilities and the Church” sermon series is a powerful opportunity for churches to reshape their perspective on disability and build a more inclusive and mission-driven community.

Why This Sermon Series Matters

For too long, the church has unintentionally marginalized people with disabilities, seeing them as objects of ministry rather than active participants in the Kingdom of God. However, the Bible tells a different story—one where people with disabilities are valuable, called, and indispensable. This 4-week series is designed to help churches:

Teach a biblical view of disability
Encourage full inclusion and belonging
Empower individuals with disabilities to serve
Challenge the church to reflect Christ’s heart

How to Use This Series in Your Church

This series is built for any church of any size, whether you already have a disability ministry or are just beginning the conversation. Here’s how you can implement it:

1. Preach the Series on Sunday Mornings

Use the sermon outlines to equip your congregation with a biblical understanding of disability and how the church can respond. Each week highlights key passages that affirm God’s design for worth, purpose, belonging, and mission.

2. Use It in Small Groups or Bible Studies

Encourage small groups or midweek Bible studies to dive deeper into these passages, sparking discussions on how the church can grow in meaningful inclusion.

3. Involve Your Leadership Team

Church leaders, elders, and volunteers should engage with this series to develop a long-term strategy for welcoming and equipping people with disabilities in your church.

4. Create an Action Plan

Don’t let the conversation end after four weeks. Use this series to launch new ministry initiatives, evaluate accessibility, and build relationships with families in the disability community.

Why This Is Critical for Your Church

Jesus made intentional space for people with disabilities in His ministry, and He expects the church to do the same (Luke 14:12-24). If we neglect this, we are missing out on a crucial part of God’s Kingdom.

This sermon series is more than just a teaching—it’s a call to action. Will your church step up and embrace God’s plan for people with disabilities?
