One of the best quotes about churches moving temporarily to online services amidst the COVID-19 pandemic that I have seen lately basically said the church is not the building.  The church is the people.  The church can be anywhere.

Well, guess what? That means even during a pandemic where words like “quarantine” and “social distancing” have become used in nearly all conversations lately, that the church can still be the church.  We recently saw an example of this and wanted to use something similar in an effort to help the church “be the church”.

#BeTheChurch

This form is one easy, but super effective way to be the church to those around you.  Families affected by disability are already far too familiar with the concept of isolation.  Now, due to the coronavirus, the entire neighborhood is feeling the same pressures, anxieties, and fears. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention considers the elderly and people with chronic conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, and lung disease to be at higher risk from the coronavirus. If you are in a lower-risk group, reach out to your higher-risk neighbors and community members and ask them how you can help.  Our form can help identify some ways that you can help, be it delivering groceries, or just being a friend and staying in contact.

What better time for church members to step out of the church walls and step up to help one another?
