At Ability Ministry, we strive to help churches create places of true belonging for people of all abilities where they can encounter the great love of God. Over the years, we’ve equipped ministries with curriculum, training, and resources—but we sensed something important was missing.

Worship

Worship is one of the most powerful ways people connect with God. It reaches beyond reading level, beyond verbal ability, beyond cognition. Music helps truth settle into hearts in a way nothing else can. And we wanted worship songs that clearly communicated God’s heart for people with disabilities—songs that spoke truth, identity, and belonging.

Starting With Scripture

To build this worship project, we didn’t begin with instruments, melodies, or even themes.

We began with Scripture—specifically three of the most foundational passages that shape a biblical theology of disability:

  • John 9:1–3 – Disability is not a punishment; it is an opportunity for the works of God to be displayed.
  • Genesis 1:26 – Every person, of every ability, is created in the image of God.
  • Psalm 139 – God intentionally creates, knows, and treasures every life.

These passages don’t simply inform our theology—they anchor our identity. So, we wrote lyrics that reflected these truths clearly and beautifully.

Why Worship Music Matters in Disability Ministry

In many ministries, worship can be one of the hardest parts of the service for people with disabilities. Songs may be too fast, too complex, too wordy, or theologically unclear.

We wanted to create something different:

  • Simple, memorable lyrics
  • Strong, clear truth about God’s love and purpose
  • Music that works in classrooms, large groups, sensory rooms, or car rides home

These songs are designed to help people of all abilities praise God with confidence—knowing they are created on purpose, loved deeply, and never a mistake.

More Music Is Coming

This is just the beginning. We will continue to build this worship catalog, creating songs grounded in the biblical truth of how God sees disability—not as a flaw, but as part of his beautiful design.

Stay tuned. More worship, more truth, and more gospel-centered resources are on the way.
